The hinged lid opens to reveal a similarly inlaid interior and a removable reversible top with blue baize on one side and a chess board on the other, and it can be removed to reveal an inset backgammon table. The whole top swivels to reveal a space which can be used to store cards and game pieces.

The table is raised on four shaped legs united by a wide inlaid stretcher which has a platform centre. It is a wonderful example of Syrian furniture and is a very pretty decorative piece.
